Looking Back, Moving Forward: Our 2024 Annual Report

At Community Builders, we believe that housing is just the beginning. Every day, our team works alongside residents to ensure they have the support, stability and community they need to move forward.

This past year, we expanded our reach in meaningful ways. We launched new programs, including Housing Outreach and Peer Employment initiatives, to help residents transition into independent housing and meaningful work. We took on the operation of two new housing sites—Gastown Hotel and Burrard Respite—offering essential services and care to some of the most vulnerable people in our city. In 2024 alone, we provided over 900 beds, served more than half a million meals and facilitated thousands of personal care activities, all while ensuring that every resident was treated with dignity and respect.

The challenges we face are significant. The toxic drug crisis continues to claim lives, and the growing housing crisis makes our work more urgent than ever. But despite these barriers, we’ve seen remarkable resilience and transformation. We’ve witnessed residents take steps toward stability, find purpose in employment, and build connections that break cycles of isolation.

As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to expanding opportunities for those we serve. Our focus will be on strengthening new and existing programs, fostering community within our housing sites, and ensuring that every person who walks through our doors has the resources they need to build a better future.

We invite you to read our 2024 Annual Report to see the full impact of your support and to learn more about where we’re headed next.
